Najib cannot afford RM50mil house arrest fine due to frozen accounts, says lawyer

Datuk Seri Najib Razak is unable to pay the RM50mil fine required as a condition for his house arrest because his bank accounts remain frozen, according to his lead defense counsel.

Speaking to reporters outside the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Friday (Sept 25), Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah revealed that the former prime minister lacks the financial means to satisfy the condition.
