The Kuala Lumpur High Court has dismissed an application by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to disqualify Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram from leading the prosecution in his case involving 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah made the ruling after finding that there was no legal provision that required the appointment letter for Sri Ram to be submitted to the defence.
The judge also said Attorney General Tommy Thomas had verified Sri Ram’s appointment with a media statement.
