Paying the RM50 million fine will not mean Datuk Seri Najib Razak is released immediately, lawyers say.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court Registrar must confirm payment, then authorities arrange the transfer, with likely conditions on supervision, movement and security.

House arrest would still amount to imprisonment, with restricted movement and visitors.
