Former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s lead counsel has rubbished fugitive financier Low Taek Jho’s interview with the Singapore Straits Times.
Speaking to reporters at the KL court complex on Monday, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah said Jho Low was the central figure who organised everything around him in the theft of billions of dollars from Malaysian state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
He added that Jho Low had timed his statement in anticipation of his deal with US authorities to recoup US$1 billion in funds allegedly looted from 1MDB.
