New energy vehicles in China exceed 50% of October auto sales, first time in history

China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market hit another milestone in October 2025, with monthly sales accounting for more than half of the country's total new car sales for the first time, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on Nov 11.
