NFCP will be funded by telcos, MCMC hopes state govts will ease regulatory measures

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission chairman Al-Ishsal Ishak told the press on Thursday that taxpayers will not be paying for the the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP). Instead, it will be funded by the telecommunications industry’s Universal Service Provider (USP) fund.
He also hopes state government bodies can look into easing some regulatory measures to help push forward the plan.
