NG999 now answering 95% of emergency calls within 8 seconds, says Teo

Malaysia’s new NG999 emergency system has stabilised after last week’s call surge, with 95% of calls now answered within eight seconds, Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching told Parliament on Monday (Nov 24).
She added that Telekom Malaysia has added more agents to address earlier delays.
Teo also clarified that the existing “999” hotline remains fully accessible, including for senior citizens and rural users.
