Nine remanded over Finance Ministry, bumiputra status corruption scandal

Nine people, including five civil servants, have been remanded over a corruption case involving registration of new accounts with the Finance Ministry.
The nine are also being investigated for allegedly taking money to give approval for companies to obtain bumiputra status.
Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim allowed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to hold the men for six days beginning Friday.
