The motions of no-confidence against the Prime Minister should be given priority in the Dewan Rakyat, says Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid, who is Bagan Datuk MP and Barisan whip, said that when debating Budget 2021 in Parliament on Thursday (Nov 19) and acknowledged that while government matters were given priority over the private motions such as a motion of no-confidence, this could be resolved if the government allowed the motion to be given priority.
Zahid also said that MPs should reject moves for a nationwide emergency as an earlier attempt by the government was rejected by the King.
Rather, the mandate should be given back the rakyat to decide, he added.
