No kids will be rejected, says Fadhlina on six-year-olds at Year One intake

The Education Ministry is prepared to accommodate six-year-olds entering Year One, with schools planned at maximum capacity to ensure all children who register on time are accepted, says Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
When winding up debate on the Motion of Thanks for the Royal Address on Thursday (Feb 5), Fadhlina said the ministry is planning by age cohort and allowing private kindergartens to enrol three-year-olds to adjust to the change, while stressing that the policy does not alter the total years of schooling.
Classroom capacity and preschool access are also being expanded to support the flexible entry system.
