No need for new law on discrimination against persons with disabilities, says Sivakumar

The country's laws on workplace discrimination cover persons with disabilities as well and there is no need to enact specific legislation for this group, says V. Sivakumar.
The Human Resources Minister told a press conference at Parliament on Monday (Oct 16) that the amended Employment Act 1955 Section 69F which took effect on Jan 1 granted the Labour Department director-general the authority to look into and decide on employee-employer disputes involving discrimination.
