Not true Guan Eng revoked Yayasan Al-Bukhary's tax exempt status, Anwar tells Parliament

It is untrue that former finance minister Lim Guan Eng had revoked Yayasan Al-Bukhary’s tax exempt status, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said during Prime Minister's Question Time (PMQT) in Parliament on Tuesday (March 21) when responding to Cha Kee Chin (PH-Rasah), adding that it was the Inland Revenue Board director-general’s prerogative to revoke tax exemptions.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PN-Kubang Kerian) asked if other companies that made windfall profits would be asked to donate to the poor, to which Anwar said the present government has a list of 60 local and multinational companies that have given a commitment to fund TVET training.
