Thousands of visitors took opportunity of the school holidays to ride the iconic Penang ferry on the last day of its service.
Both the Pangkalan Raja Tun Uda ferry terminal here and the Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim terminal in Butterworth, were packed with cars and people queuing since before 8 am.
The ferries will be temporarily replaced with fast boats for passengers from Jan 1, while one will be maintained to ferry two-wheelers until the refurbishment of the terminals are complete.
