A former fisherman in Thailand has made headlines with his ability to call a flock of red-backed sea eagles by merely blowing his whistle.
An employee of a tour company, Somsak, 42, said one long blow into his whistle for five minutes will see a sea of red-backed sea eagles flocking to his boat at the Phang Nga Bay to devour the fresh chicken meat he prepared.
His skill surprised tourists, passer-bys and even the governor, with many whipping out their phones to capture the moment.
Somsak explained that the habit began when he was a fisherman. After a catch, he would pour the remaining fish into the sea, causing the birds to flock towards the food.
Later, he tried blowing into a whistle and saw the birds coming each time he did so, thus beginning the bird feeding ritual.
