New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Friday the mosque shootings were one of New Zealand's darkest days and that one suspect was in custody.
Ardern said it was an "extraordinary and unprecedented act of violence".
Multiple fatalities were inflicted at two mosques in Christchurch when at least one gunman opened fire on worshippers.
