Onus is on AG to act on CPM issue, says ex-IGP Haniff Omar

Former Inspector-General of Police Tun Haniff Omar said the spotlight should be on Attorney-General Tan Sri Tommy Thomas to see if he will take action against individuals who had violated the Peace Agreement of Hat Yai 1989.
Haniff added that members of the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) who returned to Malaysia after the peace deal was signed had certain conditions imposed on them.
Haniff said this in his speech during a “Gathering of National Warriors Against the Rise of Communist Ideology” event in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
