Over 4,400 child abuse cases reported as of August, says Noraini

As of August this year, a total of 4,424 child abuse cases have been reported, including three incidents at registered childcare centres (taska), Deputy Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad told the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Dec 9).
Dr Noraini highlighted that the majority of these cases occurred at unregistered childcare centres, which operate outside the ministry's oversight.
To address the issue, the government has launched the Child Advocacy Programme, aimed at raising awareness and educating the public, particularly children, on strategies to reduce or prevent abuse.
