Over RM31mil in subsidised diesel seized from Jan to Oct, says Domestic Trade Ministry

Around 13.8 million liters of n litres of subsidised diesel worth over RM31 million, have been seized in anti-smuggling efforts between Jan and Oct this year, according to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.
Minister Armizan Mohd Ali informed the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Oct 23) that six investigation papers were opened under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA).
He also announced that the ministry will lead a coordination meeting with enforcement agencies to enhance efforts, particularly along Sabah and Sarawak, and welcomed suggestions to raise awareness among local communities along the Indonesian border to aid in monitoring diesel smuggling at the community level.
