Malaysians are encouraged to get themselves tested for Covid-19 overseas before they make the trip home, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Senior Minister said this, adding that it was to avoid long waits at entry points, particularly at airports as the government anticipates more Malaysians returning home.

Ismail Sabri said the test could be done three days before the journey and if the results come back negative, they can make the trip back to Malaysia along with a letter from the medical authorities to confirm they are free of the disease.

The Senior Minister added that those who have done the test before returning home will still have to undergo home quarantine for 14 days, download the MySejahtera application and be given the wristband to be used throughout the quarantine period.
