In response to a statement made at the Oct 14 rally in Petaling Jaya by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) would be abolished if the Opposition came into power, MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said Malaysians should not take such a promise too seriously. Liow said the Opposition did not provide any alternative to replace the current mechanism. He said this after launching the annual general meeting of Pahang Wanita MCA on Oct 15.
