Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that the peace and stability Malaysia currently enjoys should not be an excuse to neglect national defence preparedness.

He said history has shown that many nations made grave mistakes by failing to maintain military discipline and readiness during times of peace.
