PERKESO calls on corporate sector to sponsor contributions for housewives

A total of 514,105 housewives registered for the Housewives Social Security Scheme (SKSSR) last year, exceeding the Human Resources Minister's target by more than double.
Despite this, committee chairperson Kasthuri Patto said many housewives have yet to register through family members or workplaces where they are employed and urged the corporate sector to step forward.
She highlighted that under Section 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967, companies that voluntarily sponsor contributions for housewives are eligible for tax reliefs.
