PKR parliamentary whip chief Datuk Johari Abdul has played down an incident on Tuesday (Nov 26) night when the 2020 Budget for the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry was nearly defeated by a bloc vote.
The Sungai Petani MP said the bloc voting was a tactic used by the Opposition coalition to “ambush” the ruling coalition in Parliament, adding that ‘fatigue’ was among the reasons for Pakatan Harapan MPs to be absent from Dewan Rakyat proceedings.
MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong rubbished the 'excuses' given to justify PH lawmakers’ absence, saying that it was their duty to ensure they have enough lawmakers in Parliament to pass Budget 2020.
