PM pledges to defend judiciary, slams rumours of govt interference

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says that he will continue to defend the judiciary's independence.
Noting "disconcerting rumblings" that the executive was allegedly interfering with due process and strong-arming the judiciary in his opening remarks at the 14th Asean Law Association General Assembly 2023 and Asean Law Conference on Thursday (Oct 19), the Prime Minister said there is "not one iota of truth in these scurrilous allegations".
