The authorities along the Thai-Myanmar border on the Thai side of Tak province have discussed ways to regulate cargo ports as new casinos begin their operations in Myanmar.
During the meeting, an agreement was made that the construction of each cargo port should be approved by the authorities to prevent illegal activities, such as the transport of illegal drugs.
Cargo ports and docks will be better regulated to prevent security concerns after casinos were reportedly mushrooming in Myanmar.
Thai gamblers, from Tak and other provinces, would reportedly go to these casinos.
