Proactive measures kept prices in check after diesel subsidy rationalisation, Dewan Rakyat hears

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has issued 210 written notices and opened seven investigation papers concerning traders who have raised prices following the diesel subsidy rationalisation, Deputy Minister Fuziah Salleh informed the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (June 24).

Fuziah also mentioned that proactive monitoring has been in place since the implementation of targeted subsidies.

Responding to a supplementary question from Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan (PN-Permatang Pauh) about the impact of rising diesel prices on the construction sector, Fuziah stated that the ministry has not yet implemented targeted subsidies for specific sectors.
