Public warned to be wary of scamming syndicates use ATM card on 'mules'

A woman came forward to share her experience with MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong on Monday for being used as a mule via her ATM card by scamming syndicate.
25-year-old Tioh Lee Yeng found out that at least 60 transactions had been made under her bank account involving RM39,000 deposits and RM38,500 withdrawals, within five days from the day she surrendered her card to a loan agent she contacted from a Facebook advertisement.
Chong said using the ATM card on mules is the latest tactic from the scamming syndicates and warned the public to be wary of such scams.
