Relevant ministries, agencies told to be prepared for expected monsoon surge, says Fahmi

Relevant government ministries and agencies have been directed to make the highest preparations following predictions of heavy rainfall expected to hit the southern part of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, says Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
Speaking at his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing on Wednesday (Jan 15), Fahmi, who also serves as the government spokesman, explained that the Cabinet was reminded about the monsoon warning issued by the Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia), which is expected to persist until Jan 19 in those areas.
