River in Bandar Baru Bangi rejuvenated after a four-year clean-up effort

The once polluted river at the Sri Tanjung playground of Bandar Baru Bangi in Kajang is clean and clear once again thanks to the efforts by a group of volunteers from Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) and some nearby residents who took part in a four-year clean-up operation.
Selangor environment, green technology, science, technology and innovation and consumer affairs committee chairman Hee Loy Sian, who was present at the event to celebrate World Rivers Day on Saturday said he hopes for more of such volunteer groups to help the state government keep its rivers pollution free.
