Rohingya activist nominated for US State Department award

Rohingya activist Sharifah Shakirah Husain was honoured at a reception held at the US Ambassador's residence in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, as a nominee for the US Department of State’s International Women of Courage award.
Sharifah, 25, founded the Rohingya Women’s Development Network (RWDN), the first Rohingya women’s group in Malaysia, in December 2016.
