Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo was fined almost 19 million euros for tax fraud on Tuesday but will avoid serving a 23-month prison sentence after agreeing a deal. Ronaldo played for Real Madrid from 2009 to 2018 and was accused of using shell companies outside Spain to hide his income. He allegedly "obtained significant income" from image rights between 2011 and 2014.
