Rulers hold special meeting at Istana Negara

Six of nine Malay rulers met at the Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur on Monday following the resignation of Sultan Muhammad V as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. According to Bernama, the special meeting was to choose a date for the election of the next King which must be held by the Conference of Rulers no later than four weeks after the post fell vacant.
