Salim Bashir is new Malaysian Bar president

Salim Bashir Bhaskaran was elected as the new Malaysian Bar president on Saturday.

The election was held despite the Malaysian Bar’s 74th annual general meeting failing to meet its quorum of 500 lawyers due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Salim replaces Datuk Abdul Fareed Abdul Gafoor.
