Selangor to engage experts and stakeholders over US tariff impact, says MB

The Selangor government will meet with experts and stakeholders next week to strategise on protecting the state's economic interests following the 24% tariff imposed by the United States on all Malaysian imports.
Speaking at a media conference on Monday (April 7), Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the discussions will focus on identifying solutions to mitigate the potential impact of the tariff hike on the state's economy.
Amirudin said that as the Asean chair, Malaysia bears a responsibility to discuss the matter to safeguard the interests of neighbouring countries affected by the US’ reciprocal tariffs.
