Deputy Rural Development Minister R. Sivarasa said Pakatan Harapan (PH) never made the promise to get rid of political appointees in government-linked companies (GLC).
He said the PH’s manifesto stated that appointments in GLCs are based on merit and professionalism.
He was asked to respond to comments made by Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (Ideas) senior fellow Dr Edmund Terence Gomez who said Dr Mahathir had a strong hold on the corporate sector following “covert” re-configurations after the change of government last year.
