SMART tunnel offers 50% Merdeka travel pass savings

Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad (ALR) has introduced the SMART Merdeka Unlimited Travel Pass (MUTP) in conjunction with the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, offering almost 50% savings for users of the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) from Aug 16 to Sept 16.

Launching the initiative on Wednesday (Aug 13), Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said regular commuters who use the tunnel about 44 times a month could save up to RM64, as monthly toll costs can reach RM132.

He said the move shows how industry players, especially in the infrastructure sector, can take proactive measures to help the public manage daily expenses, particularly in urban areas.
