SPM 2025: 7,099 candidates missed exam for various reasons, says Education DG

Out of 413,299 candidates for the 2025 SPM examination, 7,099 (1.79%) were absent due to reasons such as employment, overseas relocation, accidents, family or health issues, transportation problems, death, or detention, according to Education director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad.
The absentee rate has decreased from 2.1% (8,108 candidates) in 2024, reflecting the effectiveness of Education Ministry initiatives.
