Stay away from open spaces during stormy weather, Sabah's Safar advises

The public is advised to stay away from open spaces such as football fields when there is thunder and lightning to prevent accidents.
State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong, who is also the Sabah Natural Disaster Management Committee chairman, on Wednesday (April 26) said this advice comes following the death of a 13-year-old boy who was struck by lightning when playing football in Papar on Tuesday, adding that the boy's friend - who was also struck - is now in a critical condition.
