The Human Resources Ministry has entrusted the authorities to carry out an independent investigation into alleged irregularities in the management of the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp).

During the winding-up of the Supply Bill 2025 debate at the committee stage on Thursday (Nov 21), Human Resources Minister Steven Sim emphasised that the government would not hesitate to take firm action against those found guilty, including dismissal or legal proceedings.

Responding to a query from RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) about why HRD Corp Chief Executive Officer Datuk Shahul Hameed Dawood resumed his duties after being placed on leave following revelations from the Auditor-General's Report and the Public Accounts Committee, Sim clarified that the leave was granted to allow the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct its investigation without interference.
