Take immediate action to address brain drain, urges Chinese Chamber of Commerce president

The president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (KLSCCCI), has called for immediate action to stem the increasing trend of skilled Malaysians seeking employment overseas.

Speaking at the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia’s (ACCCIM) 78th annual general meeting on Sunday (Oct 13), Datuk Ng Yih Pyng emphasised that the brain drain is a serious concern, especially as Malaysia continues to attract significant foreign investments but struggles with a shortage of local skilled professionals.

Ng also called for additional funding in the Budget 2025 to support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which are vital to Malaysia’s economy.
