Teen found guilty of murdering 23 in tahfiz fire, escapes noose due to age

A 19-year-old teenager has been found guilty of murder at the High Court on Monday over the death of 21 students and two teachers in a fire at Pusat Tahfiz Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah almost three years ago.
Due to his age age, the court ordered for 6the accused to be detained in a prison at the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in accordance with Section 97(1) of the Child Act 2001.
