Teo: Govt maintains non-mandatory halal certification policy, offers incentives for F&B Operators

The Federal Government has upheld its stance on non-mandatory halal certification for food and beverage operators, while offering incentives for those who choose to apply for it, said Teo Nie Ching.
The Deputy Communications Minister reiterated the government's position on Friday (Dec 27) in response to the Kelantan state government's recent decision to require food and beverage operators in the state to obtain Malaysian halal certification before renewing their business licenses.
