Durian farmers in Phitsanulok, Thailand are introducing a new breed of durians to customers, many of whom have never even heard of its name.
Called “In Love With Thailand”, over 150kgs of durians from the first batch are currently being sold to the public.
According to one orchard owner, her farm has produced over 10 tonnes of durians this year.
Many of her customers have made reservations to purchase them.
Currently, the Phitsanulok City Hall is also selling durians for Bt200 to Bt300 per kilogramme, which is the same price range as what customers would get from a farm.
This particular breed is said to be “crunchy” in texture and sweet in taste.
However, it’s smell is not as pungent as other durian breeds.
