Students in Chonburi, Thailand will now have a harder time to play hooky.
Schools in the province have implemented a new attendance method which allows schools to send information to their parents whether their children have arrived in school.
At least 11 schools in Chonburi require their students to scan their student IDs on a machine for attendance checking.
An SMS is then sent to their parents informing them that their child has reached school.
To prevent students from scanning each other's card, a camera has been installed next to the scanning machine.
At least 100 schools in the kingdom have implemented this method.
