In his victory speech on Tuesday (Nov 4) night, New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani thanked his supporters and hailed what he called a mandate for change.

The 34-year-old democratic socialist will be sworn in as mayor of New York City on Jan 1, 2026.
