Oct 1 marked the first day of the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) scheme kicking in for foreign-registered vehicles entering Malaysia. Despite the clear traffic at the land checkpoints, there were still queues of more than 50 people at the VEP centre waiting to get their VEPs approved or registered.
