TikTok strengthens content moderation after cyberbullying incident

TikTok has enhanced its content moderation system following the death of Hindu activist Rajeswary Appahu, according to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
In response to a supplementary question by R. Yuneswaran (PH-Segamat) during the Dewan Rakyat session on Thursday (July 18), Fahmi stated that TikTok is taking the incident seriously and has increased the number of content moderators proficient in vernacular languages, including Tamil.
Fahmi highlighted that cyberbullying affects individuals across all demographics and advised MPs to caution children under 13 against opening social media accounts.
