Traffic volume spikes on highways as recovery MCO kicks off

The traffic volume went up significantly on the first day of the recovery movement control order (MCO) on Wednesday (June 10), say the authorities.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Thursday (June 11) said Plus recorded almost 100% increase in traffic on its highways on Wednesday with over 2 million vehicles compared to 1.2 million vehicles on Tuesday.
Ismail Sabri reminded the public to be mindful while on the road, adding that police would be stationed at rest and recreation (R&R) spots to ensure standard operating procedures were observed.
