Two Pakistani-themed restaurants along Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur were caught using subsidised cooking oil to prepare their food.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry Kuala Lumpur director Ariffin Samsudin told reporters on Wednesday (Dec 27) that during the raids on Dec 22, enforcement officers also found that the two restaurants did not have any licenses or permits to store controlled items.
Ariffin said his department is also investigating the wholesalers who supplied the subsidised goods to the restaurant owners involved, adding that strict action will be taken against any restaurant owners or suppliers of subsidised goods found to have committed such offences.
