Umno postpones AGM to focus on Tanjung Piai by-election, BN to decide on candidate

Umno has postponed its annual general meeting (AGM) to December to avoid clashing with the upcoming Tanjung Piai by-election on Nov 16.
Its president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that after chairing the Umno supreme council meeting on Thursday (Oct 3), adding that the AGM, initially planned for Nov 13 to Nov 16, will now be held on Dec 4 to Dec 7 instead.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman also said the BN candidate contesting in the Tanjung Piai by-election will be announced after negotiations between component parties and studies on the matter is completed.
